Our board is not just a collection of individuals—it is a team united around one mission: to celebrate, coach, and empower youth in foster care and kinship care as they grow into their future. Each board member brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives. When combined, those gifts create a team that can see further, plan wisely, and act boldly for the good of the children and young adults we serve.
How We Lead the Direction of Our 501(c)(3)
Our board carries the responsibility of shaping the future of this organization. We lead by:
- Setting vision and mission clarity – ensuring our work stays true to why we exist.
- Establishing strategic direction – identifying priorities that will make the greatest impact for the youth we serve.
- Ensuring accountability – stewarding finances, policies, and practices with integrity.
- Empowering leadership – supporting our Program Directors so they can carry out the mission with excellence.
- Championing the cause – serving as ambassadors in our communities, opening doors, and inviting others into this story of hope.
Together, our board is more than decision-makers—we are vision carriers, culture shapers, and mission protectors. As a team, we lead the direction of our 501(c)(3) in Illinois so that every child, teen and young adult in foster and kinship care can believe in their value and rise into their future with confidence.
