CAMP

Royal Family Kids Camp

The camp experience makes a tremendous impact in the lives of foster kids. Five days of immersion at camp goes deep and breaks barriers.

Kids make friends as they are celebrated through a variety of camp activities. Kids have FUN through group games, creative crafts, swimming, fishing, boating, archery, woodworking, pinewood car derby, singing, storytelling, campfires and learning God’s word.

AT CAMP, YOU’RE FAMILY

Campers stay in family-style cabins with 8 campers and 4 counselors per cabin. Meals are served family style with each cabin unit seated at the same table providing the campers with a sense of belonging.

Our faith-based curriculum includes songs and lessons on God’s love. Throughout each day, volunteers coach the campers by reminding them of Biblical truths in a fun and loving environment.

They receive hand-written notes from other campers and volunteers. On the last day of camp every child receives a personalized photo memory book and audio player of camp songs. These mementos are treasured by campers for months, even years, after camp ends.

MENTORING

Why Mentoring matters

Whether you’re on this page to mentor or connect a youth with a mentor, you’re helping create lasting change.

Kids in foster and kinship care often face deep loss, instability and uncertainty. Nearly 50% of youth in foster care age out without a permanent connection to an adult.

Mentorship changes this story-creating stability, trust and hope.

What Mentoring Looks Like

  • Provding positive role models and guidance, helping youth of foster or kinship care make healthy choices and avoid risky behaviors.
  • Games, connection, faith based teaching are woven into the fun two hour experience to help kids feel safe. In these activities, they build friendships, increasing their confidence and self esteem so that they believe in themselves.

The Heart of our Mentors

When kids and teens enter foster or kinship care, their world turns upside down. They lose stability, familiarity, and often, hope. But one caring adult can rewrite that story.

That adult could be you.

BE THE STEADY VOICE THEY CAN COUNT ON

  • Consistency heals- Many of our kids and teens have broken trust. A Mentor’s steady presence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present and will show them that not everyone leaves.
  • Every child and teen deserves someone who believes in them. A Mentor’s consistency says “I see you. I believe in you.”
  • Mentors can help them dream bigger. Their guidance can open doors, teach skills, and help them see a future they didn’t think possible.

NEXT STEPS

NEXT STEPS

Camp

This experience gives kids in foster and kinship care a safe place to simply be kids-where they can laugh, play and build lasting memories. Camp allows kids to experience joy and hope that carries with them long after camp ends.

Mentoring

We offer mentoring so kids in foster and kinship care have steady caring adults who believe in them and walk alongside them. Mentoring helps kids believe in their value and that they don’t have to face life challenges alone.

STORIES

LAURA

Foster Mom

LAURA

“Thank you is not enough for everything you have all done, not only this week, but for the many weeks preparing for it. I am so grateful for the way you love and serve these kids. I admire your energy, patience, and the generosity of your time.

I’m also always impressed with how well organized and thoughtful RFKC is with every detail. Then camp itself is filled with so much more: music, singing, birthday parties, swimming, crafts, wood working, sweet treats, costumes, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, daily notes, bunk beds, memory books, photos, bibles and most importantly learning about a God who is by their side.

I hope you know how much the moments and memories mean to these kids and our family. RFKC and each one of you are an AMAZING gift to so many!”

Volunteers

ALYSSA & CODY

We have an 11 year streak of volunteering for Royal Family Kids Camp and from year one, it became our favorite week of the year. This one, single week, really does make a great, impactful difference in the lives of each kid that attends.

We have seen kids struggling on day one, be truly transformed by the last day of camp. We’ve seen trust in a safe adult get built and bonds and friendships be made that are life changing for the campers. It is so eye opening to what your presence at camp can actually do for these kids.

Each persons presence matters and makes such a huge impact, and even the team of volunteers really have become a family. The bond that this camp brings is such a unique and beautiful one.”
